Brown Hits in 20 Straight Games
Thursday, June 12th , 2025
To everyone checking on whether Marcus Brown kept his hitting streak alive -- today's answer is "yes."
Brown finished with a 1-for-5 day against the Cedar Rapids Kernels. The South Bend Cubs center fielder stretched his streak to 20 games as his club grabbed the 6-3 win at Wrigley Field.
"It's not easy," a tired-looking Brown told reporters later. "Everyone's looking for me all the time now, so there's no showing up late to batting practice, and there's no slipping out of the stadium early." Marcus Brown struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Matt Richards in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
Thus far this season in 57 games, Brown is batting .288 with 3 home runs, 24 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 60 hits in 208 at-bats.
