Koss Skunks Quad Cities, 6-0 Wednesday, June 11th , 2025 Eric Koss of the Peoria Chiefs was on top of his game. The 17-year-old tantalized the Quad Cities River Bandits with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 6-0. "He had the changeup working," Quad Cities manager Sean McBride said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower." The Peoria hurler had 3 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 7 hits in his complete-game effort. Koss told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league." "If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said. |
