Super Swinger -- Carvoeiro Slams 5 Hits Monday, April 21st , 2025 It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Alex Carvoeiro of the Portland Sea Dogs. The Portland third baseman gave it his all and dominated Binghamton Rumble Ponies pitching at Sea Dogs Ballpark, finishing with a great 5-for-6 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Rumble Ponies going home the winner, 9-8. "There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Carvoeiro said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead." Alex Carvoeiro flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. This year, Carvoeiro is hitting at a .391 pace with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs. He has played in 11 games and scored 7 times. |
