The New Hampshire Fisher Cats were stuck in the middle this season -- not competitive enough in the playoff chase to be considered relevant, but not far enough behind to be completely written off. Until now, that is -- today, the Fisher Cats were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

Wehner Spins 5-0 Shutout Against Richmond

Larry Wehner of the Bowie Baysox was impressive in blanking the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 5-0, at Ballpark of Richmond. He crafted a 4-hit shutout and chalked up 5 strikeouts with no walks in the contest.
Wehner has taken the mound for 18 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 4-2 record with a 3.70 ERA. The Bowie reliever has limited opposing batters to a .259 batting average.
