Halstead Cracks 5 Hits Monday, August 25th , 2025 Even as a kid, T.J. Halstead said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Fightin Phils Stadium, Halstead showed how well he learned that lesson. The 25-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Reading Fightin Phils, helping his team knock off the New Hampshire Fisher Cats by a score of 18-1. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." T.J. Halstead hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. For the year, Halstead is batting .371 with 46 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 15 times and driven in 19. |
