O'Mally Goes 5-for-5
Wednesday, July 23rd , 2025
Doug O'Mally knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Patriots Grove, he made his case to be considered among that group.
The 27-year-old left fielder hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Somerset Patriots fell, 10-4, to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Fisher Cats manager Marcos Ochoa told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that O'Mally wasn't the difference."
Doug O'Mally singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ben Straus in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Batting .310 to date, O'Mally has 5 home runs and 21 RBIs.
