Escobedo Cracks 5 Hits
Saturday, June 7th , 2025
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Sergio Escobedo is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Richmond Flying Squirrels at SeaWolves Field. The monster effort from the 23-year-old center fielder helped the Erie SeaWolves get the win, 14-2.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Flying Squirrels manager Eddie Baker. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Sergio Escobedo singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Dustin Bullock in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
At present, Escobedo is batting .340 with 32 hits and 3 home runs. He has knocked in 13 runs and scored 21 times.
