Arreola 5-for-5 for Sod Poodles Monday, May 5th , 2025 Amarillo left fielder Danny Arreola went down swinging at Sod Poodles Field, knocking out 5 hits even as his Sod Poodles fell, 5-4. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Arreola said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Wichita Wind Surge. "No offense meant to Wichita, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the left fielder's improvements, saying Arreola spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Arreola agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Danny Arreola singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Roberto Pegan in the 8th. This season, Arreola is batting .333 with 10 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 3 times and has 3 runs batted in. |
