DeChenne Slams 5 Hits for Springfield Sunday, August 31st , 2025 Sal DeChenne had an answer for everything the Arkansas Travelers threw at him at Busch Stadium. The Springfield first baseman went 5-for-5 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Cardinals a win, 10-4. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, DeChenne said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Sal DeChenne hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Rodriguez in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Jonathan Rodriguez in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
