Aroca Goes 5-for-5 Wednesday, August 27th , 2025 The Amarillo Sod Poodles stopped the Corpus Christi Hooks by a score of 16-3 at Sod Poodles Field, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Nick Aroca. The 27-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Aroca said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Aroca did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Hooks. "Not much that I can say," offered Corpus Christi manager Jose Bolanos. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Nick Aroca singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. For the season, Aroca is currently batting .300 with 9 home runs and 43 RBIs. In 69 games he has reached base at a .346 rate and scored 42 runs to date. |
