Hooks Chill Coyne Hot Streak Thursday, August 21st , 2025 It was a doubly miserable day for Mike Coyne of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, as he saw his 23-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 5-4, to the Corpus Christi Hooks at Hooks Ballpark. The 26-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Hooks. "Anyone on a 23-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Corpus Christi manager Jose Bolanos said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." Thus far this season in 67 games, Coyne is batting .279 with 11 home runs, 38 RBIs and 53 runs scored. He has 72 hits in 258 at-bats. |
