5-for-6 Game for Schultz Thursday, July 10th , 2025 After a 5-hit effort to lead San Antonio's 16-1 victory over the Frisco RoughRiders, center fielder Steve Schultz told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Texas League-level is really something special." The 23-year-old player earned his accolades at Missions Park with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the RoughRiders. "His swing is getting there," said Missions skipper Jeff Gill, who spoke glowingly of Schultz after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Steve did that to perfection." Steve Schultz singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Adam Roguski in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. Schultz is currently batting .336 with 5 home runs and 23 RBIs. |
