Caputo Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Saturday, May 17th , 2025 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Jared Caputo, it came around today. The 25-year-old first baseman scattered hits all over Fenway Park to pace the 10-3 Worcester Red Sox victory over the Durham Bulls. Durham skipper Marco Saborio told reporters in the press room that "Caputo deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Caputo hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Jared Caputo doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Hector Ortiz in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 8th. Caputo is currently batting .381 with 6 home runs and 30 RBIs. |
