Kirkland Sensational, 5-for-6 Thursday, May 15th , 2025 It was a sensational day at the plate for Austin Kirkland as he led the charge to a nifty 11-9 win over the Mets. The Rochester third baseman was pure misery for the Syracuse pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Kirkland put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Steve Bonardi, manager for the Mets, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Austin Kirkland hit an RBI single in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th. Kirkland currently has a .331 batting average with 39 hits, 1 homers, 22 RBIs, 14 runs scored and a .362 OBP. |
