Lancaster Belts Bunch of Base Hits Friday, April 11th , 2025 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Eric Lancaster, it came around today. The 27-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Redbirds Field to pace the 9-6 Omaha Storm Chasers victory over the Memphis Redbirds. Memphis skipper R.J. Slater told reporters in the press room that "Lancaster deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Lancaster hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Eric Lancaster singled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 11th. |
