Perez Goes on Rampage Against Storm Chasers Tuesday, May 12th , 2026 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Esteban Perez -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Citi Field and paced the 11-9 Mets win over the Omaha Storm Chasers. After his dynamite batting performance, the Syracuse third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Esteban Perez tripled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. For the season, Perez is hitting at a .366 clip with 3 home runs, 20 RBIs and has scored 23 runs. He has 45 hits, 12 walks and a .423 on-base percentage. |
