Swanson on Fire: 5-for-6 for Nashville Tuesday, September 9th , 2025 Nashville shortstop Ben Swanson could do no wrong in his team's 14-8 win over the Red Wings, as he collected 5 hits. "Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Red Wings skipper Greg Weaver said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts." Swanson agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game. "Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Ben Swanson singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Mike Yuska in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Rich Allison in the 9th. Swanson has a .287 average and a .329 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 131 hits, 11 home runs and driven in 70 runs. |
