Omaha Halts Martinez's Hitting Steak Wednesday, August 20th , 2025 The Omaha Storm Chasers did something to Francisco Martinez no team had done for the last 21 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Jumbo Shrimp, who came away with the 3-1 victory at Storm Chasers Park. "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 22-year-old shortstop said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted." Martinez is batting at a .321 pace this season, picking up 131 hits in 408 at-bats with 2 home runs, 40 RBIs and 46 runs scored. |
