Martinez Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Saturday, August 16th , 2025 Chalk up another one for Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp shortstop Francisco Martinez. He now has hit in 20 straight games. Martinez went 1-for-4 in today's game at RailRiders Park but saw his club defeated, 5-2, by the host Scranton WB RailRiders. "Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Jumbo Shrimp manager John Boatwright said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Francisco Martinez grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and grounded out in the 8th. So far this year, Martinez has 2 home runs and a .321 batting average. |
