Hit Streak Now at 20 for Martinez Friday, July 18th , 2025 With 2 hits at IronPigs Grounds, Brent Martinez added another game to his hitting streak -- the Lehigh Valley shortstop has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the IronPigs, as they fell, 9-5, to the Toledo Mud Hens. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Toledo manager Jason Walley said later. "I'll let him get 3 hits in 3 at-bats if it means we get a win." Brent Martinez walked in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 9th. This year, Martinez is hitting .326 with 8 home runs and 31 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .390 clip and scored 38 runs. |
