Young 5-for-6 for Clippers
Thursday, June 26th , 2025
After a 5-hit effort to lead Columbus's 14-8 victory over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, right fielder Ryan Young told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the International League-level is really something special."
The 24-year-old player earned his accolades at Clippers Park with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Jumbo Shrimp.
"His swing is getting there," said Clippers skipper Justin Gorshe, who spoke glowingly of Young after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ryan did that to perfection."
Ryan Young singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Ricardo Garza in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
