Pierce Rips Toledo for 5 Hits Monday, June 16th , 2025 Iowa Cubs second baseman Steve Pierce banged out 5 hits, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the Toledo Mud Hens, 13-11. He went 5-for-6 and raised his batting average a few points. "If the hits keep coming," an upbeat Pierce said after the game, "the runs will too. And, more importantly, so will the wins." Steve Pierce flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run triple in the 8th and singled in the 10th. Looking at his season stats, Pierce has compiled a .312 batting average and a .395 on-base percentage, while hitting 8 home runs and driving in 29 runs. |
