Diaz Goes on Rampage Against Pirates
It was a sensational day at the plate for Alex Diaz as he led the charge to a nifty 15-2 win over the Pirates. The Cleveland second baseman was pure misery for the Pittsburgh pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.

"Diaz put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Steve Cowin, manager for the Pirates, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Alex Diaz singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, was hit by a pitch in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

Thus far this season in 6 games, Diaz is batting .409 with 1 home run, 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has 9 hits in 22 at-bats.
