Mets 5-3 Victors Over Lake Wylie
|
The 5-3 New York win over Lake Wylie was due in large part to Andres Sanchez. The Mets center fielder was 3 for 3 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs. Steve Clark finished the game for New York and earned his 14th save. The setback makes Lake Wylie 29-21.
Sanchez had a timely hit for New York in the top of the sixth. With New York trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-2 changeup into a bases-clearing double. It was his 9th double of the season, making it 5-3, New York.
New York manager Robert Erwin was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
