The River Hills Rockets downed the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-1, at Rogers Centre. The Rockets were led by Ricardo Peraza. Peraza was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win was credited to 26-year old right-handed pitcher Ricardo Garza in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Sergio Nevarez took the loss. The save went to David Clark, number 2 for him.
With River Hills leading 2-0 in the top of the fourth, Peraza hit a changeup from Sergio Nevarez for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Rockets ahead, 5-0.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Rockets manager Blake Wheeler, "I like our chances."
After today's action, River Hills sits at 20-28; Toronto slips to 18-31.
