Tampa Bay and Lake Wylie duked it out and the Rays came out victorious.

Despite a fine performance by left fielder Adrian Esquivel, the Lake Wylie Renegades lost to the Tampa Bay Rays, 8-5. Esquivel went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win went to Jose Castillo in relief, making him now 1-1. Wan-fu Chai took the loss for Lake Wylie. Sandy Moreno nailed down the save.

Danny Ochoa hit a 3-run home run off Shane Oakley in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Rays ahead, 8-5. In addition to the homer, Ochoa had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Ochoa.

Tampa Bay is 19-25 and Lake Wylie, with the loss, 29-16.
