Lake Wylie Dealt 5-3 Defeat
|
Miguel Anzaldo, who is tied for 9th in the NL in wins with 4, propelled his team to victory over the Lake Wylie Renegades. The final score was 5-3, New York. With the win over Lake Wylie, the Mets improved to 20-25.
Johnny Filkins, who leads the NL in total bases with 115, took Lake Wylie hurler Ken Miller deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Mets on top, 4-2. In all, Filkins had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Anzaldo.
