The River Hills Rockets eked out a 2-1 win versus the Chicago Cubs at River Hills Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Danny Tindale. He was terrific. Reliever Erick Cevallos picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Troy Keyes took the loss. Matt Wood picked up the save, his 1st.

River Hills right fielder Ryan Rubenacker contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 16th hit of the season and put the Rockets ahead, 1-0.

Rubenacker was taciturn after the game. "A win's a win," he said.

By defeating Chicago, the last-place Rockets improved to 17-27.
