The River Hills Rockets and St. Louis Cardinals provided some drama for the home crowd.

The St. Louis Cardinals got a magnificent effort from pitcher R.J. Hitchcock, who kept River Hills hitters in check en route to a 1-0 Cardinals win at Busch Stadium. St. Louis reliever Arturo Garza picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Eric Laginess absorbed the loss.

St. Louis took a 1-0 lead on Xin Ju's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Ju hit in the bottom of the eighth, left River Hills pitcher Eric Laginess visibly frustrated.

"That's baseball," said River Hills manager Blake Wheeler. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."

The last-place Rockets have lost 7 straight games.
