Washington Topples Lake Wylie, 7-5

The Washington Nationals had to overcome a big game from Lake Wylie catcher Gregg Blackketter to leave Renegades Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5. Blackketter was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Nick Bryan, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 1 and walked 3 over 5.2 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. Kevin McIlwain closed it out for his 1st save.
Max Dau hit a 2-run triple off Pancho Garcia in the top of the first, which put the Nationals in front, 2-0. Dau had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 5.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Dau.
The loss drops the Renegades to 2-1.
