The St. Louis Cardinals converted a terrific effort from starter Arturo Garza into a win over the Lake Wylie Renegades at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals won the game by a final score of 3-2. Garza got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. With the win over Lake Wylie, the Cardinals improved to 16-17.

St. Louis catcher Roberto Rubio helped the Cardinals go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Rubio hit a run-scoring single off Lake Wylie pitcher Bob Woodard.
