Nationals Rally Late to Clip Lake Wylie
The Washington Nationals turned back the Lake Wylie Renegades, 5-4, at Nationals Park. Steve Pierce, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Lake Wylie is 21-10 after the defeat.

The decisive blow was delivered by Joey Ryan in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off fireballing right-hander Michael Ceja to win the game for Washington. The home crowd went nuts.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Lake Wylie manager Scott Barber. "The effort was great."
