The 7-4 Los Angeles win over River Hills was due in large part to Miguel Gonzalez. The Dodgers right fielder was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Los Angeles reliever Lance Wilkerson picked up the win to move to 1-1. Alex Mooney suffered the loss. River Hills, with the loss, is 11-19.

Dusty Slaughter came through with a big-time hit for Los Angeles. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Slaughter, "one at-bat at a time."
