Fans watched the Lake Wylie Renegades and the San Francisco Giants fight to the finish.

The San Francisco Giants could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Mel Moreno into a win. Instead, the Lake Wylie Renegades prevailed, 4-3. Moreno threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Chris Schamerhorn got the win, improving to 1-2. He held the Giants to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Willie Farias finished the game for Lake Wylie and earned his 2nd save.

Lake Wylie took advantage of an error in the top of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 3-3, when Tyler Stewart hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Renegades in front, 4-3.

"Bottom line," said San Francisco skipper Danny Lopez, "we didn't play well enough to win."

After losing, San Francisco is 9-10.
