Fans watched the Lake Wylie Renegades and the St. Louis Cardinals fight to the finish.

The Lake Wylie Renegades took Jose Calvo's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Busch Stadium. The final score had Lake Wylie getting past the Cardinals, 5-4, in 10 innings. Calvo over 5.2 innings allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 6. Lake Wylie, at 87-72, is 5 games up in the National League East Division.

Didier Villeneuve drove in one run for Lake Wylie. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Carlos Bustos. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Lake Wylie manager Scott Barber.
