The New York Mets defeated the River Hills Rockets, 7-5, at River Hills Grounds. New York catcher Matt Elul had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Javier Galvan got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 5 runs on 6 hits in 5.1 innings. The Rockets, now 0-16, continue their sluggish start.

There was more than one reason the Mets beat the Rockets, but Elul's big at-bat in the top of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Elul.
