Lake Wylie third baseman Martin Albarran had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-7, to Kansas City at Kauffman Stadium. Albarran went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Kansas City reliever Wally Seow was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Dusty Crostic. Kansas City is now 71-70, Lake Wylie 75-65.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Kansas City center fielder Greg Williams, facing Dusty Crostic, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Royals the 8-7 win.

"This game was intense," Williams said, postgame.
