Renegades Victorious at Kansas City, 5-1
|
Willie Farias never let Kansas City get something going. The Lake Wylie right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Renegades to a 5-1 win. Farias got the win, improving to 9-6. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The National League East Division-leading Renegades are 75-64.
Lake Wylie took a 5-1 lead on Gregg Blackketter's 26th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Blackketter hit in the top of the seventh, left Kansas City pitcher Jesus Benavides visibly frustrated.
In postgame comments to the Lake Wylie Bulletin, Blackketter said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
