Angels Score Late to Beat Rockets, 2-1
|
The River Hills Rockets got a superb performance from pitcher Carlos Mujica, but the Los Angeles Angels still won the game, 2-1. Mujica threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Los Angeles reliever Dan Macke picked up the win to move to 1-1. Ricardo Garza suffered the loss. With the loss, River Hills sinks to 5-8.
Los Angeles got a knockout punch from Brian Woodruff. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Watch and learn," said Woodruff. "This is what good pitching looks like."
