The Seattle Mariners could not turn a fine performance from center fielder Danny Balmaceda into a win. Instead, the Lake Wylie Renegades prevailed, 7-5. Balmaceda was 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The win was credited to 26-year old right-handed pitcher Shane Oakley in relief. His record improves to 2-1. George Jones took the loss. With the loss, Seattle falls to 4-10.

Martin Albarran drove in one run for Lake Wylie. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Rodrigo Duran. It was his 8th RBI of the season.

"It never gets old," said Albarran. "Winning, that is."
