In a close game at River Hills Grounds, the New York Yankees edged the River Hills Rockets, 5-4. New York catcher Alex Sanchez stood apart with his performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Sergio Ramirez, the winner, goes to 9-8. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. Bert Lovric got the save, his 7th in 10 chances.

New York used a well-timed hit by John Bragg to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Yankees ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Sanchez said.

With the win over River Hills, the Yankees improved to 59-70.
