New York Downed, 7-6, by Renegades
|
Thanks in large part to shortstop Bobby Jimenez, the Lake Wylie Renegades beat the New York Mets, 7-6. Jimenez went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Dusty Crostic earned his 28th save in 38 chances. With the win, Lake Wylie has a record of 68-58. New York falls to 56-71.
Lake Wylie needed the clutch hitting of Justin Riojas to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Renegades on top, 7-6. For the game, Riojas had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Riojas said.
