New York shortstop Edwin Davila had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Lake Wylie Renegades, 9-4. Jeff Bailey earned the win for New York. Matt Elul had a big 2-run home run for the Mets in the bottom of the first inning. With New York leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher John Rood and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Mets on top, 4-0.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Robert Erwin said.
