Rockets Come Up Short at Washington, 2-1
|
Washington starter Jose Rosales pitched well against the River Hills Rockets at Nationals Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 2-1. The winner was Rosales. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Pedro Martinez. David Clark was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 6 save opportunities.
Paul Abell, who is tied for 7th in the NL in doubles with 29, helped out the Washington cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder went 2-3 with a double and a walk.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Rosales said.
