Kontic Tags Royals for 5 Hits
It was a sensational day at the plate for Boston Red Sox left fielder Ivan Kontic, but a tough one for the team, as the Red Sox dropped the contest, 13-10, to the Kansas City Royals.

Even with the loss, Kontic was pure misery for the Kansas City pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-5 in an explosive display of hitting.

"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Kontic, who is the 28-year old left fielder .

"Kontic really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Royals manager Rob Hunter told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Ivan Kontic walked in the 1st, singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

So far this year, Kontic is batting .271 with 15 home runs.
