The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, knocking off the Lake Wylie Renegades, 5-3. Starting pitcher Billy Strickhouser played a key role in the triumph. Strickhouser got the win, improving to 2-3. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Rogelio Cepeda got the save, his 21st in 23 chances.

Terry Kenyon dealt the Renegades a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Cincinnati leading 1-0, Kenyon hit a first pitch cutter for a 2-run single.

"Billy was throwing free and easy," said Cincinnati manager Chris Galindo.

With the win, the Reds have a record of 49-35.
