The Washington Nationals faced a tough opponent in Lake Wylie pitcher Willie Farias, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Nationals Park by a final score of 3-2. Farias went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win went to Aaron Corley in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Willie Farias took the loss. The defeat makes Lake Wylie 42-31.
Danny Heathershaw, who is tied for 7th in the NL with a .922 OPS, helped out the Washington cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Heathershaw told the Washington Gazette.
