Renegades 9-8 Winners Versus New York
Led by Gregg Blackketter, the Lake Wylie Renegades downed the New York Yankees, 9-8. Blackketter was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Renegades. Lake Wylie reliever Israel Figueroa picked up the win to move to 1-0. Nate Leftwich suffered the loss. Dusty Crostic earned the save for Lake Wylie, his 3rd.

The Yankees had been locked in a 6-6 tie with the Renegades going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old center fielder Bill Fecteau came to the plate. Fecteau hit a bases-clearing double on a 2-0 cutter from New York hurler Nate Leftwich. It was Fecteau's 4th double of the year.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Blackketter, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

Lake Wylie goes to 5-2 with the win.
