Cincinnati Beats River Hills in 10-Inning Thriller
|
Sam Land impressed in the 7-5 Cincinnati win over River Hills. Land, who is tied for 10th in the NL in bases on balls with 41, went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Cincinnati pitcher Rogelio Cepeda got the win. He's now 3-1. Ricardo Garza was tagged with the loss. Cincinnati is now 42-27, River Hills 21-46.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Land hit a cutter from Ricardo Garza for a 2-run home run. The Reds, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Land told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
