Hits Blitz for Rays Briones Friday, July 3rd , 2026 At Tropicana Field, Placido Briones led Tampa Bay (FCL) to a win, 17-0, over the New York A (FCL) Yankees by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats. "Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," Briones said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases." In addition to going 4-for-6, Briones chalked up 7 RBI and scored 1 run in an exceptional performance.
