5-for-6 Day for Tervort
Friday, July 3rd , 2026
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
John Tervort is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Pittsburgh (FCL) Pirates Black at Fenway Park. The monster effort from the 19-year-old second baseman helped the Boston (FCL) Red Sox get the win, 11-0.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Pirates Black manager Jose Romero. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
John Tervort singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Currently Tervort is hitting .417 and has collected 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 12 times, while playing in 8 games.
